Inland Port Hand Mark, Inland Starboard Hand Mark, and Port or Starboard Hand Mark

Function and Purpose:
Installed on the channel side of shoals, rocks, shipwrecks, or other obstructions to navigation. They mark the lateral limits of the channel. When installed along both banks of a well-defined channel, they indicate the shoreline,capes/promontories,or non-navigable branches, guiding vessels to navigate within the channel.
Applicable Areas:Navigable waters such as inland rivers, lakes, and large reservoirs.
