Steel Ship-shaped Buoy

Function and Purpose: The steel ship-shaped buoy is a type of aid to navigation (AtoN) used in inland waterways. Its hull is constructed of steel in a ship-like form, with a tightly sealed deck. Various navigational marks can be installed on it as required, enabling it to serve different functions.

Applicable Areas: Navigable waters of inland rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.

For sections of mountainous rivers, swift currents, and hard riverbeds, an iron anchor may be used for securing the ship-shaped buoy. The selection of the iron anchor should be based on the calculated outfitting number in accordance with the Rules for the Construction of Small Inland Waterway Vessels (2022 Edition), and the specific type should be chosen by referring to Table 3.3.3.1 of the same rules.
