Safe Water Mark

Function and Purpose: 
Safe water marks are used to indicate that the surrounding waters are navigable; they can be used to mark the center or midline of a channel, as well as to mark the entrances of channels, ports, river mouths, or the first sight of land. 

Applicable Areas: Channel entrances, ports, river mouths, or the first sight of land.
