The function, shape, color, and light characteristic of the channel information mark shall comply with the following provisions.

Function: To display information such as the names, directions, distances, and channel mileage of cities, ports, waterway service areas, anchorages, hubs, locks, channel jurisdiction boundaries, confluence/divergence points ahead, or channel protection information.

Shape: A rectangular sign is mounted on top of two posts. Arrows, text, patterns, numbers, letters, etc. are drawn on the sign as needed. Text, numbers, letters, etc. shall comply with the provisions of GB 17733.

Color: The sign has a green or blue background; arrows, arrow shafts, text, patterns, numbers, and letters are all white; the posts have alternating black-and-white diagonal stripes, or blue-and-white diagonal stripes, or are entirely white.

Light Characteristic: Information content may be displayed using photoelectric facilities.
